buildherfan.org is a written index of sixteen hotels sorted into four categories that each solve the same problem — where to sleep — in a completely different way.
No booking engine, no star ratings, no affiliate scoring. Just a description of each building and what staying in it is actually like.
We keep the list small on purpose. Every entry is a hotel that exists, is open, and is described in prose rather than reduced to a row of specifications. Where a property changes — a wing closes, a season shortens, a collection moves — the text changes with it.
How to read the entries
Each category page opens with its own short argument for why these hotels belong together, then runs the properties one after another at full width. The order is not a ranking. Nothing here is scored, and nothing is sponsored.
If a description has gone out of date, or a hotel deserves consideration and is missing, tell us.
